Believe it or not, I will miss my family and friends again this fourth of July. The week of the 4th is my favorite week of the year. Mostly because it is my birthday week and typically, I see my friends and family this week.
When I was young, we always had a fourth of July party at our house in Willoughby which was the hit of the summer. Now that I am older, I enjoy a slow work week, cookouts and visiting.
Fortunately for me, I have a wonderful July to come back to after Mexico. Our Cinco De Mayo is July 12, a wine party with one of my best friends Val and of course, the Andviums Toronto summer tour with George Michael.
I am so looking forward to Val being home again and also to more girls nights. I love getting together with A,N,V,R,H and J. You guys are the greatest friends and support system that are really a highlight of my life.

Mexico, Here We Come!
We're taking a family vacation tomorrow to Mexico. We'll be there for 7 days. Here is a link to our place: http://www.grandsirenisrivieramaya.com
Reasons Why This Vacation May be Better than our Last:
-We're flying 3.5 hours rather than driving 13.
-Timmy is 22 months, not 9 months.
-Timmy can walk.
-Timmy doesn't need formula or baby food or a pack and play.
-We're going all inclusive, no worries about money.
-Staying at a resort with 6 restaurants, a lazy river and kids pool/playground.
-We don't have to leave the resort, don't have to drive off site.
-Travelling by ourselves so we won't be on anyone's schedule.

-We're flying 3.5 hours both ways.
-Timmy can walk, and run.
-Can't use our cell phones in Mexico.
-Possible Montezuma's revene
We'll miss home but will definitely not be on a schedule, eat, sleep and swim.

Dan and Laurie's Wedding
Saturday was Dan and Laurie's wedding. Before the ceremony the weather was beautiful and the setting at the woods chapel was as well. We waited with excitement for Laurie to come out of the woods. She was absolutely glowing with happiness. I have never seen her so happy in my entire life, including the engagement photos.
The bride was beautiful in her formal wedding dress complete with rouching that made her look gorgeous. Dan looked pretty good too :)
The ceremony was beautiful especially the two candles lit in remembrance of their late fathers.
The reception followed with great food and lots of s'mores. We danced and played with the children while Laurie and Dan spent time taking photos with loved ones.

Mark and Alice's Wedding
Friday night, we dropped off Timmy at Mom's house and headed to Canton for Mark and Alice's wedding. We drove the long drive through Alliance to Sebring, Ohio to Copeland Oaks Senior Community for the ceremony. The ceremony was beautiful in a pristine chapel with a royal red carpet and theater seats. Alice was gorgeous with her dress and her hair down up and Mark looked very happy too.
After the ceremony, we went to the party room and had a light dinner and toasted the couple. From there, we headed to a local establishment while we waited for the new bride and groom to say goodbye to guests and take off their formal attire.
We met the bride and groom and friends at the 357 Bombers Club near the Akron/Canton airport and sat on the patio and talked at a big table. It was a beautiful night.
Saturday was set for a pig roast with over 200 guests. I had to leave Saturday morning for another wedding but Larry stayed on and had a wonderful time.
After the ceremony, we went to the party room and had a light dinner and toasted the couple. From there, we headed to a local establishment while we waited for the new bride and groom to say goodbye to guests and take off their formal attire.

Hodgepodge
Larry has throat infection due to having his wisdom teeth pulled out and not receiving an antibiotic. He cannot talk or eat. What to do, what to do.
Timmy is going back in the crib tonight because he stands at the gate to his room for 1.5 hours at night calling and cryinng.
I need some time to clean:
--smeared diaper from Timmy's bedroom wall
--old milk sippy cups piling up in my car
--dead insects and cobwebs on front porch
--remnants from my garage sale in the garage
--the patio furniture and deck need bird de-pooping
--the windows
--the kitchen floor
--the shower

No Sleep Til Brooklyn
Last night was our third night with Timmy in his new bed. Sleeping in the bed is not the problem, it is sleeping by himself which has suddenly become an issue for him. He always was a good sleeper and now at 21 months, he won't go to sleep on his own at home.
Of course at daycare, they tell him he is the first to lay down and fall asleep and the last to wake up every day.
We're going out to dinner tonight so maybe the excitement will wear him out a little before trying to go to bed.
Ughhhhh.

Today is Wednesday
Awesome weekend but of course, busy again.
The Heisley Park sale sucked. I bought nothing but a hotdog and some girl scout cookies. They had tons of baby clothes from 0-12 and bouncers. There were no household items at all and nothing good.
I went to Heather's presale Friday night and did well. I bought her hallway table/mirror, a bubble mower for Timmy, a sports nightstand for Timmy and a Fisher Price climbing set for the backyard. I also found the Go-Go's Greatest Hits for $1 and a Sesame Street CD. I felt it was a success.
Saturday evening I headed to the Cheesecake Factory for my good friend Laurie's "bachelorette" dinner. We did what we do best, talk, laugh and eat. It was awesome to get some relax time with Jen/Lynne/Steph and Laurie. We told ourselves we had all night and I think we were there a good 3.5 hours. We had a great time.
Sunday was the wedding shower which was really very nice and very "Lakocy" like. When you have the sisters do the shower, you'll not be disappointed, they are great entertainers and planners.
When I got home, I walked Timmy for just over a mile, gave him a bath and put him to bed. This is when it got interesting.
He just won't go to sleep anymore the way he used to. He stands up and screams for over an hour. Calling for Mommy, Daddy and even Elmo. Unfortunately, Mommy and Daddy feel bad and go to him. We've got to be tougher and let him cry/call himself to sleep.
He's out of the crib now and we have had 2 nights that have been rough. Hopefully, the continued routine will set in and we'll be back to more restful nights.
