Rachael Ray

TK is sleeping so I thought I'd take a minute to comment on Rachael Ray's new show which premiered on NBC at 3:00 this week. Am I the only person in America who cannot take her? I liked her in small doses on $40 a day or even 30 Minute Meals, but an entire hour of her smiling, shrieking and yelling is too much for me to handle and it has not been a full week yet. Does anyone agree?

First Night Out

Tonight my cousin Heather picked me up and took me to dinner with our friend Nicole and Jodie. It was my first night out and though I was a little sore, it was nice to feel like part of the world again after being cooped up and not feeling well at home. Larry took care of babycakes for the 3 hours that I was gone and I really appreciate it. I decided to skip the alcohol since Nicole warned me that I was about to enter "the depths of Hell" next week when I am home alone with baby all day. I figure alcohol is a depressant so why help add to the Hell I am about to face? Anyway, dinner out was nice and so was laughing with my friends, I hope to do it again soon.

XZibit

The rapper? XZibit, the host of "Pimp My Ride" has a part in some football jail movie coming out soon. I don't know why, but this guy seems like such a nice guy to me. He seems down to Earth and funny. Anyone know anything about XZibit? I know, this is a weird thing to post.

One Week Old

TK is a week old today and to celebrate, we realized he had thrush in his mouth :(
Have a prescription and plan to stay on top of it to get rid of it.

For awhile, my posts are going to be centered around the new baby and how it affects our lives since it the main thing in our life right now. Today was a day to recoup. I talked to a few of my good friends on the phone and a couple of them stopped by to visit. It sure is a nice feeling to have your friends call you and leave messages to see how you are doing. Even if I don't have time to answer the phone and talk, it is a true blessing to have such good friends in your life.

Up late tonight waiting for Larry to come home from his football game. Euclid is 3 and 0, the best record they have since 1996. I am happy that Larry is going to have a great year this year.

A New Nosse

Timothy Keane "TK" Nosse has arrived! I went in for my regularly scheduled weekly appointment on 8/31 and nothing was happenening--except that my blood pressure shot up. Dr. thought it might be nerves because the due date had arrived, but after some tests, decided that it was best not to wait and to try and induce Baby Nosse that night. After a final meal of burritos at Chipotle, Larry and I wandered over to Lake West Hospital where they had set aside the room with the extra long bed/couch for Larry in case it was a long night. Good thing they did.

I was hooked up and monitored as they started the drugs to dilate and move things along. By 6:00 am, they decided to break my water and add the pitocin to the mix. Contractions were coming along nicely--at first. As they increased the dose and the baby started to move down, his heart rate dropped with every contraction. After some time of this, Dr. Clinger decided it was too risky to continue on knowing we had to get to 10 centimeters and we were just at 4. She decided to do a C-section. I'll admit, I was scared and Larry admits to being nervous in the operating room. Those bright lights are ominous. Anyway, I figured if my friends could do it, I could. It finally got underway and was over before we knew it. Timothy Keane "TK" Nosse had finally arrived. We could not believe it. He was 6lbs 2 ozs, 19 and 3/4 long born September 1 at 2:54pm.

We're home and I have plenty more to write but am going to go and check on the boy right now.....to be continued...
