Easter has come and gone. We spent lots of quality time with family over the weekend. This weekend I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation.

Saint Malachi Run
Well, I did it. I ran the 2 mile St. Malachi Run on Saturday, March 15th. Heather and I headed down with the weather @ 35 degrees. Heather helped me get signed in, fasten my timing chip and head to the starting line. I was by myself and had 2 miles to go. I started jogging with the rest of the pack, down the hill and around a bend. As the real runners ran by, I slowed to a walk and continued on. I walked/jogged 30 seconds the entire 2 miles. I made it, I was tired at the end, but I made it up the hill. My official time was: 32:09 which made it a 16:05 minute mile.
Yes, I should be walk/running 2 miles every day, but I am still proud of myself for doing it.

Snowed In
Friday, we got home from Longo's pizza just in time to watch the blizzard roll in. Saturday morning, Larry and I cleaned the house and watched the snow fall. He called his brothers and cousins to compare snow stories. Mom's down at the Cleveland Clinic trying to get some rest and feel better. She hears about the snow outside. Sunday, we got ourselves out on the town for errands...Gabe's, Big Lots, Target, Giant Eagle.
Sunday and it is all over.

It's All Over Now
Wednesday, March 5th - Mom's surgery is finally over!
Tuesday was a very long day. We received a call at 8:45 pm on Monday night saying her Tuesday surgery was still on, but would be later. We arrived at the clinic at 10 and they wheeled mom back around 10:45, we heard she was on bypass,then heard the surgery was over by 4:30pm. She was up in ICU at 8:00pm and we got to see her although she was still out of it. She got the mechanical valve she wanted and should never have to go through the surgery again. Today is Wednesday and I am writing this in the cardiac stepdown waiting room while they take her to her room. She is awake today and very talkative, the pain medications are working.
Thank God the ordeal is over and she can go on to be positive about the future. Thank God too, for the Cleveland Clinic.
