Overwhelmed

Just when I was starting to feel relaxed, stress started rearing it's ugly head. Work has been extremely hectic for the past 2 weeks, but more than ever today. I cancelled out of a meeting and ate lunch at my desk in order to make the deadlines that I have for June 1st. I keep saying that "failure to plan on someone's part does not constitute an emergency for me", but it does. I have to keep the web site up to the minute even when I don't feel the content matter warrants such treatment. So anyway, after leaving work tonight, I came home and relaxed with Larry and TK to get over today. Yet, I must go back tomorrow.

So much to do, so little time.

Tuesday

My co-worked talked me out of that pool because he thinks it is more than we need. The fact that it won't fit on our deck was the second decider. Will go to Target and see what they have to offer us. More later.

Splish Splash

I am thinking about purchasing this pool. I read some reviews online and it should last the summer for us. At Rite Aid, it is $69.99 with a $30 rebate, making it $39.99. It is 10x30 and comes with a filter. You do have to put chlorine in and keep it clean.

Didgeridoo Your Nails?

Well, I didn't but Susan at Avanti in Chesterland did.

Wednesday, on my lunch hour, I had a long overdue pedicure and my feet look and feel great.

Couponing

Last Thursday night, H, J and N and I went to see the Coupon Guy at the Perry Library. As I told him and the entire group, "I could have talked to him all night." I'd peg him as slightly obsessive compulsive on coupons, but I think he's really a neat guy.

The one thing I walked away with was the rebate catalogs available at Walgreens and CVS. You can literally earn a buck or two with this rebate system. I actually started saving that night. After the meeting, I went to CVS and picked up a prescription that I had waiting. I found a $3 off coupon for any Life Solution in a pharmacy booklet (CVS brand) vitamins. Then, on the bottom of my receipt from the prescription, there was $2 extrabucks good toward any vitamin purchase. So I just both coupons on $9.99 vitamins. The best thing is that I needed vitamins! What a deal!

Saturday I went to Giant Eagle and looked in the beer aisle. I bought a case of Bud Light for $15.99 to bring down to Columbus with us for Memorial Day weekend. There was a coupon there that if you bought any Budweiser 12 pack or larger, 2 bags of Tostitos and 2 Tostitos dips, you'd get $10 rebate check. So, I went to the Tostitos and they were 2 for $6 and the dips were $3.39 each. I bought them all and will also bring them to Columbus and I will get the $10 back. I love it.

Mother's Day Weekend

Friday, went garage saling at lunch. Bought a Huffy women's mountain bike for $25, it is in like new condition. When we pulled up and saw the jag in the driveway, I knew it would be a good sale. Also found a $15 Longaberger basket worth $70. May sell it on e-bay.

Friday night, we went to Rock City with a few of my co-workers for dinner. Now that the smoking ban is being enforced, it was great.

Saturday, went out with Carol garage saling. Had a really good day and bought a few good things that we needed around the house.

Saturday night was the Euclid High School football raffle at the Manor. I worked the front door checking guests in and had a fun time. My parents were there and I bought them corsages for their wedding anniversary.

Sunday. Larry and TK bought me 3 $12 gift cards to Red Robin to cover my lunch. How sweet their cards were. Watched some saved up DVR and went to Sam's club in the morninge. Had family over for sandwiches and pizza for Mother's Day.

Woke up Monday with cold and have been drinking plenty of fluids to flush it out quickly. Another big weekend coming up.

Smart Women

I was watching "The View" last night and Brooke Shields was on. I never had an opinion about her in the past, maybe that I thought she was a snob. But ever since her honesty of her post-partum depression and her standing up to Tom Cruise, I have begun to admire her.

She was on the view as a guest as it was the first day of her new campaign with Tupperware called Chain of Confidence.

The campaign celebrates the powerful bonds of friendship that connect women together and significantly shape who they are and who they have the potential to become. Women connecting with one another creates an extraordinary source of strength enabling them to feel confident in themselves, secure in their ability to succeed, empowered to make their voices heard and motivated to continually strive for greater achievements.

As you may know, I truly value the gift of my friendships. This is another chance for me to let you know how much I value your support over the years.

Now, I am not going to actually buy Tupperware (unless at a garage sale), even though the proceeds are going to the Boys and Girls clubs of America. But, I am going to take this opportunity to remind you all of how much good friends contribute to your well being.

Weeks Fly By

So much is going on.....I hardly have time to blog...

I've got a lot of things buzzing in my mind, here are the thoughts that are running around in my head at this very moment:

• I'm very thirsty and I haven't even had pretzels.
• I'm wondering if my son is happy at daycare today.
• I'm wondering when the landscaper is actually going to give us the written estimate and give us a date to bring in topsoil, plant grass and cut down trees. If not by 5/15, I'm calling someone else.
• I'm wondering if Barry Gibb will be as good looking as ever on American Idol tonight.
• I'm fretting because I didn't get a card in the mail for my cousin's birthday on the 9th or my parents' anniversary on the 10th.
• I'm wondering if it is wise to charge our vacation to Hilton Head this summer but not caring too much because we really want a vacation this year.
• I have no idea what to have for dinner tonight since Larry is at a track meet in Bedford.
• I wonder where I'll find a V325 battery for my Motorola cell phone. My phone is dead.
• I wonder if my childhood friend got an estimate from our childhood nemesis.
  

Comfort Food

Redddddddddddddd Robinn, Yummmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I haven't been to Red Robin since we started our diet. Today, I woke up tired and realizing that it wasn't Saturday. On my way into work I decided that I am going to have my favorite California Chicken sandwich from Red Robin today, no ifs, ands or buts about it. I called Jen, my best Red Robin friend and also a fan of the California chicken and she said she was in since she has been on a "modified" eating plan along with me.

On White Rd this morning, I noticed a nice garage sale just outside the entrance to my work. I'm starting to feel better already.

Tomorrow, my good friends are coming over to drink some wine and chat and I cannot wait!
