Keep The Old
Make New Friends, But Keep the Old....That old adage rings true for me. Saturday night at my Progressive party, I ran into an old friend from 10 years ago. I thought about her all day the next day and when I got to work Monday morning, I scheduled lunch to catch up....Monday evening, Amy and I met up with the Coletta girls at Damon's for dinner. We had gotten together last year for dinner so Nada scheduled a second dinner for last night. It is nice to reminisce with old friends about the things we used to do and what we used to care about and compare them to what we're doing today. Last night, we decided that the Cesa/Coletta girls should get together more often so we scheduled again for April :)

Weekend Wrap Up
Friday night, we had an impromptu crab legs party since Reider's in Concord had them for $4.99 a lb. Larry's cousins and brother came over and we had a good time.
Saturday, we went to downtown Painesville for the 4th annual Winterfest. It was too cold outside so we stayed indoors at the senior center's chili cookoff. We had 15 amateur chilis and 2 professional chili testers for $2 total. We drank lemonade, met a fireman, saw Judge Elaine Crane and sat with the Alexander Family who were out to pass some time. We were there 2 hours and would definitely go back again next year.
Saturday night, Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Chad came over to babysit for Timmy while we went to my company party at Dave and Busters. We had a great time. I must admit that I was not looking forward to it, but they closed D&B's to the publie and we were all given game cards with lots of credits. We each got 2 drinks and pop/coffee were free as well has dinner stations. It was really a lot of fun.
Sunday, up with Timmy at 7:25 and we were off to Giant Eagle while Larry headed into Starbucks to meet another teacher on a masters plus class to earn another salary increase.
On track for another week....

Catch Indians Fever
Looks like I'll be catching Indians fever over the next few years whether I'd like to or not. Here's the first event Progressive is holding for employees this week.
As our first event in partnership with the Cleveland Indians, this Friday, Jan. 25, Cleveland Indians first baseman Ryan Garko and relief pitcher Jensen Lewis will be signing autographs at Campus. Each employee will be able to take a photo and can bring ONE item to be autographed. Don't miss this chance to meet these Indians players. Slider, the Cleveland Indians mascot, will be there, too!

It is Freezing!
Today is Wednesday and this morning on the way in from the parking garage, I realized how freezing it really was. I walked in the door and felt the rush of warm air from the heater on my face. Up to my desk and got my hot tea for breakfast. I don't want to leave the building for lunch today, but I am slow so it will be good to get out for a bit. Jen wants to go "somewhere warm" for lunch and suggested Red Robin. Fine by me, it is very warm there and their food is comforting.Those are today's big plans, Red Robin for lunch and home with Timmy tonight while Larry runs his first indoor track meet of the season.

Sunday
The BG MLK Weekend was this past weekend and it was just wonderful for me. Laurie, Steph and I had a great night shopping and having dinner on Friday night. I stayed in Leslie's room and it is like being in a hotel with her very comfortable bed.
Saturday the Jill, Cindy and Lynne came for more shopping, a great lunch and visiting. Saturday night, the three of us headed back out to shop. I was fortunate to buy a couple of bar chairs at a going out of business sale for my kitchen island and they are perfect. (I'll include a photo later. Steph and I got haircuts at Penney's, then we headed to the 9:30 movie of "27 Dresses". We came out of the theater into the bitter cold, headed back to Whitman to have some Christmas cookies before bed.
I really had a wonderful time with everyone!

Thursday
Timmy is doing well, his tubes are in place and open. Now, we just have to focus on his cold and cough.
I have bronchitis. Some people knew before I did. They pumped me up with a steroid, antibiotic and inhaler and spray, should be back to normal in no time.
Larry is as healthy as a horse, as ususal.

The cough medicine is not working on my cough anymore. Thanks to Jodie and Heather, I am going to the doctor today at 11 to see what's up with this cough.

1:18 am Saturday Night - Brief Update
Woo Hoo! I'm up. What a week.....
Busy weekend, Saturday, CJK turned 1 and we all celebrated with Elmo and JoJo. I thought I had pinkeye but experts told me no, not pinkeye.
Sunday, eye still red, no problem, but a little pain in the back of my throat.
Monday, eye still red, may go to doc, tomorrow, throbbing pain in back of last tooth.
Tuesday, eye still red, a little more pain in the back of of my throat.
Wednesday, eye still red, go to dentist for emergency b/c I think I must have an impacted wisdom tooth because of the pain and I cannot swallow. Doc takes xrays, tell me I have the mouth of a pregnant woman and proceeds to pluck a popcorn hull out of the gum behind my last tooth on the lower right side. He said the hull had slid down in the gum and cause a major infection to the back of my jaw. The teeth were fine. He gave me 10 day amoxicillin, 800 mg ibuprofen for pain and a wash.
Thursday, eye still red but now I am on antibiotic so that will take care of my eye, won't it? Mouth feeling alot better. Prescription ibuprofen awesome. The rest of me feels like hell. Cough, cold, good I am going home, am off tomorrow for Timmy's tube surgery.
Friday. Wake up and am as sick as a dog. I have a 101 fever, chills, cough, cold, my eye is still red and I look terrible. Larry and I have to bring Timmy in at 8:45 and he cannot eat for 3 hours prior so we whisked him through the kitchen and into the car when he woke up. Would you believe that I forgot to put my bra on and walked out the door? I meant to put one on but got sidetracked getting Timmy ready.
Surgery check in is great. I walk up and sign the papers with my fevered hand and think to myself, the next person to pick up this pen, may get the flu from me. My face is sweating and my hair is matted. I have a big sweatshirt on over tee shirt so I am covered on the bra thing until Larry tells me I have to go into the surgery room with Timmy while they put him out. Great, I tell him about the missing undergarment and fortunately it was a smock I got to wear. Cool, until after they put him out, the nurse escorts me out of the room patting my back and taking my gown to put in laundry. I cross my arms and head back for my sweatshirt.
Surgery goes great, Timmy is fine and we head home. Now, I realize how sick I am as I suffer through the chills and the sweats and how much it sucks. Timmy is great, playing and talking. Of course, so is Larry. He makes us dinner and brings me tea. Go ahead Larry, go to the basketball game I hear myself say.

Poor little guy. Larry makes breakfast, lunch and dinner for us and does the laundry. I watch Bob the Builder and Sesame Street all day because it is the only thing Timmy wants. How can I deny him? He just had surgery.
Saturday night, is is now 1:38 and I am done writing because I am out of stuff to say. I am not tired so am going to surf for awhile before trying to go back to bed.

Voices Carry
Big Week for Timmy. Monday he had a hearing test where he tested borderline normal. They said it could be because of the fluid in his ears. Today, he had a pre-op meeting. He will be having the ear tubes put in on Friday and they expect us to be there for 3 hours. Not looking forward to him crying, but definitely looking forward to comforting him and him feeling better and better after tubes.
