This past weekend, it was so nice to see the green grass and the sunshine, even if it was cold. Last night we got dumped on with all this snow! What is going on? I cannot wait for March to be over and look forward to Spring.
On another note, I love Gordon Ramsay and his kitchen nightmares, even the BBC versions. Larry and I have watched every episode and are getting used to the English accents.

Sesame Place Anyone?
Hello Ladies,
Has anyone been to Sesame Place? Amy or Heather, I thought one of you might have been there. I saw in article in a magazine this weekend about it and am wondering if it is worth the long drive to Philly. We're not taking a big week's vacation this year so we thought we'd do a weekend or something. Timmy won't even be 2 this year so I am also wondering if he will be too young to enjoy it. Maybe we should wait a year. Write back if anyone has any experience there.

Lure Bistro, Willoughby
All of a sudden we had plans Saturday night. Grandma and Grandpa watched Timmy while Larry and I joined in a birthday dinner. We had never been to Lure, but Jeanne had worked there many years ago and they were known for their sushi.
We arrived and were taken by the main dining room upstairs where they had larger tables for bigger parties. The decor was modern with special lighting that projected bubbles on the walls and tables. The tablecloth and utensils were all very clean. It kind of felt like we were in an old second bedroom of a house. Our waiter was Chris and he explained that the building had actually been the Willoughby cab company in it's prior life. He told us that there had been a taxi lift where the kitchen stands today and the owners had removed it when the building was purchased. If you stand in the bar and look toward the kitchen, you can see the brick opening where the cars used to drive in. (I love these historical tidbits).
Larry had a beer and I went crazy and had 2 cosmos - which by the way were excellent. After much perusing of the pricey menu, Larry and I chose $20 entrees reluctantly. I had the salmon with potatoes and carrots and he had a seafood marinara. Our salads were spinach and were very good, my dinner was excellent, but Larry wasn't crazy about the sauce on his although, he said the seafood was great. They served bread and butter with the meal. The service took a little time but it seems like people expected a long, casual dinner experience there. Everyone was dressed up and looked like they were on special occasions.
All in all it was a nice night and had a nice time.

Texas Cattle Company
Located at the Willoughby/Kirtland border at Rt. 90 and Rt. 306 is the Texas Cattle Company, formerly the Grillsmith, formerly The Brown Derby.
The bar on the left has been carpeted and new seating installed. Straight ahead, there's a case displaying the hand cut beef they grill for dinner. The dining room is very large and covered in red and white checked table cloths. There are buckets of peanuts on the tables, but you don' throw them on the ground here.
Our server was Sunny and she was a ray of sunshine, very pleasant. We ordered appetizers that were just okay. The stuffed mushrooms were tasty, but could have cooked a little longer and the calamari was good as well, but they too, were a little undercooked.
The salad is served in a bowl like the Olive Garden and everyone gets a ramekin of dressing. They homemake two dressing there: italian and spicy ranch. Both are very good. They also serve warm fluffy rolls with cinnamon butter that was very pleasing.
We ordered New York strip and Tbone steaks and they were all very good. We chose baked and sweet potatoes and both were excellent. You do pay for the steak though. The 6 oz filet was 19.99, the NY Strip was 17.99 and the Tbone, 22.99. The Diet Coke tasted crisp--sometimes hard to find in a restaurant and Sunny rememered the lemon I ordered.
We will definitely go back and with kids eating free on Wednesdays, it will be pretty soon. Next time, we'll have sandwiches.

Valentine's Day
The sun is shining this Valentine's morning. I woke up to find a box of Malley's chocolate covered strawberries on the kitchen table and a chocolate bunny with a nice card from my husband. You all know that chocolate is my favorite and he knows that the Malley's bunny is tops. I love to gnaw on that darn bunny every year. One year my mom gave us each a bunny and I ate Larry's too. Gotta get back on that diet though.
I managed to write out Bob the Builder valentines for Timmy's classmates but didn't get out any to his grandparents or other family. Maybe next year. I also made some heart cookies but ruined them when I tried to make the frosting red with fruit punch kool aid crystals. They were terrible so I had to pitch them. Maybe next year.
Friday we're going to the last Euclid basketball game and possible to fish fry with my parents. Yuck. I don't care for fish fry so I have not committed to dinner just yet.
We've got no plans Sat or Sun so hopefully, we'll get time to relax this weekend.

Tuesday
It's cold cold cold! The weather outside is frightful and I cannot wait to snuggle up with a blanket on the couch tonight to watch American Idol with Larry and Timmy.
I have a lot to do. I want to put together a Valentine's treat for Timmy's room at B2B and I still have to get my husband a card. Maybe I'll just give him one of Timmy's Bob the Builder cards this year. I also want to make the Nieman Marcus cookies for my friend who is having surgery today and take them up to her house as well as drop off some baby goodies to my cousin. Maybe if there is no blizzard, I will run out tonight, maybe tomorrow while Larry is at track, Timmy and I will sneak out.

Wicked
I was impulsive yesterday. I was browsing Craig's List and found Wicked tickets for opening night which was in 5 hours. I contacted the seller, recruited Larry and my parents to go to the State Theater for the production of Wicked. We had box seats which were on the aisle in the lower left side. The seats were movable so Larry could stretch his legs. We had a good time, the production and costumes were fabulous. Some of us thought there were a few too many songs as it went on for 2.5 hours but we really enjoyed it.
Going to the show at the last minute was very exciting. I'd definitely do it again.

Ash Wednesday
Today is Ash Wednesday and I will try to sneak out to mass at my lunch hour.
We have been busy this week. Last night, I took Timmy down to Euclid High School to suprise Larry at his indoor track meet, but we got there and it was too late. Timmy did love running on the track though. He fell a few times, but kept getting back up. Then, we met Aunt Jeanne and Uncle Chad at the Texas Roadhouse for dinner and Jeanne fed Timmy mashed potatoes, coming from her, he ate them up.
We're having shrimp stirfry for dinner tonight and hopefully American Idol is on for us to have a laugh or two. Larry then heads down to Columbus for a football clinic on Thursday.
Just everyday life.

Super Bowl
Super what? Am I missing something? So I don't care about the 2 teams playing. I watched for commercials and didn't see anything great. The best part so far was half time with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I think they looked great in suits and they sounded great. No worries about lip syncing or wardrobe malfunctions.
