Where's Garfunkel?

Last night we received a call from Larry's Godfather asking if we wanted Paul Simon tickets for Thursday night. Larry, not knowing a single Paul Simon song, said, "Yes!". So tonight, we are going down to the PD Pavilion (formerly Scene, formerly Nautica) to see Paul Simon. I did some research on the Internet today and Paul has apparently released a new album which is being hailed as it best work yet. I like Paul Simon and hope he slips in some old faves in for S&G fans. I found out the tickets were $55 for General Admission so we must be going to see a living legend.

Nothing Going On

Nothing is going on. Really. Nothing happening.

Monday night my parents came over and helped Larry put a dimmer switch on our living room lights and the ceiling fan. Then, we watch an old film reel of Larry's parents' wedding. Tuesdsay night we went to dinner at the Beach Club Bistro in Euclid with our friends Kristen and Pete. Our old neighbors are supposed to come out on Friday night to see the house and go to Pickle Bills for dinner, that should be a nice night out. Larry and I are trying to decide where to go on a one tank trip on Saturday, staying over somewhere one night. Back to work on Monday (my birthday) and having the family over for 4th of July. Lots of fun stuff coming up.

First Uncomfortable Issue

My feet are swelling. I am trying to keep them elevated and drink lots of water. I hope it is just a passing thing.

Garage Saling Saturday?

I am free for saling on Saturday if anyone wants to go, call me. Last Saturday I went by myself and it was not as much fun. Although, I did buy 2 Longaberger pottery flower pots for $10 and brought them home to my kitchen.

Finally

Well, I am at 30 weeks now and my last appointment was fine. I go back in 2 weeks. They don't expect to see any action until week 36 so hopefully I can just coast until then.

I finally registered at Babies R Us last night. Since we're getting together the shower invitations to send out next week, I figured I was running out of time. Nicole wanted to come with me since she wanted to point a few items to me. My husband's only request was a sports theme bedding set so I took Nicole up on her offer. We went around with the gun and picked out some nice stuff.

Larry is down in Columbus working the Ohio State football camp. He says it is hot and there are tons of kids there. I hope he enjoys it. I know he has run into his his former coach at Preble Shawnee high school and his buddy Mark from Walsh University as well as the other Euclid coaches who are working the camp. On Friday, he heads to Indianapolis for the Jr. National Track Meet that his girl Jessica Beard will be running in. I cannot wait for him to come home.

"Wicked" Weekend in the Windy City

This past weekend was one I was looking forward to for awhile. Six of my 9 friends from BGSU were lucky enough to meet in Chicago for the weekend. Gwen, who lives in Chi town planned the event and her generous husband cashed in his frequent stay miles to pay for Marriott Hotel on the Magnificent Mile. Sue flew in from Phoenix, Jen and Steph from Pittsburgh and Laurie and I came from Cleveland.

Friday night we went out for Chicago style pizza, stopped at Garrett's for fresh popcorn and headed to the movie theater to see "The Break Up" - which was very, very funny even though it was a serious topic. Definitely go see this movie. All 6 of us loved it. We came back to the hotel and had martinis (I had water) in the lobby bar until 1:00am.

Saturday, we headed out to breakfast, then on to a double decker trolley tour that allowed us to get on and off stops all day for $25. We got off at Navy Pier, stopped at a great place for Chicago hot dogs and saw all of the sites. We had a 5:30 reservation at Rosebud for a fancy dinner before heading to the theater to see "Wicked". The performances were great, the costumes and set were spectacular and the story was interesting. Very cool production. After the show, we headed back to the hotel lobby bar for a mini baby shower at 11:00pm and more martinis.

Sunday, we were off to breakfast in the am and headed to the airport for us to return to hour respective homes. It was a great weekend and I really had a good time with all of my friends. Wish we could do this sort of thing more often.
