One of My Favorite Memories from Christmas 2007

In the cousin's gift exchange, my giftcard that I received from Heather had a photo of Bindy Irwin in it. I laughed and laughed out loud. Come on, you cannot tell me that this girl is not ugly.

December 26th

I realized today how relieved that Christmas is over. I feel like stress is flying out of me every minute.

Silent Night, Christmas Night

It is Christmas Night and all is quiet. Timmy is sleeping all snug in his bed. The presents have been opened, the food has been eaten, the house has been cleaned. Just a little clean up and it will be just another memory.

Timmy's 2nd Christmas was not much fun for him. He has a recurring ear infection that just won't clear up. Doc put him on the hard stuff and hopefully this will knock it out of him. Unfortunately, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were the worst days for him and his ear.

Onward Christian Soldiers.

News Today

First I heard that Dan Folgelberg died of prostate cancer. Of course I don't know him, but I will miss him, even though he hasn't put out a song in 25 years.

Then I heard that 16 year old sister of Brittany Spears, Jamie Lynn Spears is pregnant. I told my friend Jen about it today and she just broke out in this laugh and laughed and laughed. It is almost comical in a very sad way. How pathetic.

Winter Storm

Today, we left the house at 10 to head aout to Hillbrook for pierogi day. Larry and his cousins and brothers made 29 dozen pierogies that we will have on Christmas Eve as is their tradition.

Denise, Heather, Timmy and I took a ride in the Denali to Kohl's to do some shopping. The winter storm started blowing in and we carefully drove back to Russell in the snow.

From there, we headed to Willoughby for Jeanne's birthday dinner at my parents house. I advised Larry to go the wrong way on the treacherous drive home so it was pretty tense in my Honda. Fortunately, we made it safely and had the birthday.

We left Willoughby and headed east. I commented as an suv drove by that they had just bought their Christmas tree that was strapped to the top of the vehicle. Little than 5 minutes later, that tree was in our paty on Rt. 2. With the roads in bad condition, we drove straight over the tree, we're sure it must have been cracked in 2. We never looked back, even when we saw the suv pull off the highway and walk back to get the tree. It was a stupid move on their part, the snow and wind were howling.

Anyway, we made it home, safe and sound....Now, to get through the activities this week.

The Ornament Party

This past weekend was the Hillbrook Gang's annual ornament party. Larry and I look forward to this holiday party every year. Amy babysat Timmy overnight so we could stay as long as we wanted and visit with our friends and family. We'll pay her back this Friday night so her and John can go out for the evening with their friends. Works out great!

What a Week

Started off the week great on Monday, on Tuesday was not feeling well and left work early to go home sick. Still not feeling well on Wednesday but had to go in and make it through the day. Thursday feeling much better. I have heard from many that there was a 12 hour flu going around. Mine lasted about 24 hours. Was home on Tuesday but felt so bad, I didn't get a thing done.

Today is Friday and I am glad the week is over. I was involved in a high profile project that elevated today so now I feel I can relax a little. Tonight, staying home with Timmy while Larry and my Dad go to Euclid basketball game.

Been doing much of my Christmas shopping online with free or $.99 shipping. It is easy to do and it is fun to watch the gifts roll in on my doorstep.

Annual favorite Christmas Ornament party this Saturday night, Timmy is going to stay with his cousins (thanks Amy!) and we are looking forward to a marvelous night out.

Fastest Tree Trip in History

11:00 - let's go get the tree.
11:05 - drive one mile up Bowhall Rd. to Lakota's Tree Farm
11:15 - took 10 minutes to pick out tree, pay and get in car
11:25 - home, go stopped by train on Bowhall
11:45 - tree in stand, will wait to "fall", just like my Dad always said.

MJ's Favorite Things

I was catching up on my "Oprah" and caught her "Favorite Things" episode. This prompted me to come up with my own Favorite Things list. This is off the top of my head right now, so don't expect it to be great.

1. I love my DVR or TIVO or whatever you can use to record stuff. Could not live without it.

3. Coupons. It is like free savings.
4. Target. I've talked about this before.
5. Malley's chocolates, there's nothing better.
6. Those soft socks everyplace sells, they are so comfy.
7. Hot Lipton tea with Splenda and milk.

10. Automatic ice and water on the refrigerator.
