Long weekend gone

Memorial Day Weekend has come and gone, weren't we lucky to have great weather? Our trip to Atwood Lake was memorable for all for we all had a good time in such a beautiful setting.

Back to work today and I was only there in body, didn't do much actual work. Had my doctor's appointment and am waiting for the glucose test to come back. The good news was that I've only gained 6 lbs so far. Now just wondering when the food I have been eating is going to catch up with me. I think the party will be over soon.

Saw something interesting at Benigan's tonight. In the bathroom stall, there was a dispenser that misted out a cleaning solution for the toilet seat. Apparently, you are supposed to take a piece of toilet paper and mist it with the spray, then wash the seat. No thanks. I'll protect myself the old fashioned way -- with toilet paper covering every surface of the seat!

Larry heads down to Columbus for the state track meet this weekend and I will head to my sister's and my cousin's for garage saling heaven.

What's Happening With Us

The weather has finally warmed up!! So happy because we're going on a family vacation this weekend to Atwood Lake with my siblings and parents. It will be much more pleasant to enjoy nature in the good weather. It is a nice place because everyone can do their own thing. My brother and sister and sig others are camping in a cabin. My parents, us and my sister's family is staying in the hotel lodge. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, hiking trails, a hotel lounge with entertainment nightly so there are options. I'm thinking of dragging my husband down to Longaberger since it is only an hour away--but shhhhh! I haven't told him yet.

Larry is still in the middle of track season. He was named the Lake Erie League's Coach of the Year and is also nominated for the News Herald coty award. He has the fastest highschool female in the nation who is being scouted by the top colleges. Yesterday, ESPN satellite radio interviewed him via phone about Jessica - his stud as he calls her. Anyway, he is off to Austintown Fitch for the regionals tonight and Friday, then it is on to the state meet and finally, the nationals. I cannot wait til track season is over so he can relax a bit.

Having a great garage sale weekend and am looking forward to many, many weeks of good weather saling in the next couple of months.

THS - Charles In Charge

Yes, this past Sunday, I waited with great anticipation to see True Hollywood Story: Charles in Charge. I almost called some of my friends about it and am now glad that I didn't because it wasn't that great. In fact, the Who's the Boss? one I saw earlier that day was actually better.

Anyway, it was the story of Scott Baio and Willie "You've Got Me So in the Flesh" Ames more than the show. They barely mentioned the first season and never mentioned Gwendolyn Pierce, Charles' gilfriend in the show. If I was that actress, I'd be miffed that I was on the show and never included in the True Hollywood Story.

So, Scott Baio seems to be a real jerk. It seems he spent a lot of time meeting women at the Playboy Mansion, then dumping them. He seemed very arrogant in the interview which confirmed how I thought about the way he acted in the Happy Days reunion some years earlier.

Can't Watch the Cavs

The Cavs are playing right now, it is the fourth quarter of what could be the last game in the Detroit series. I can't watch. All the back and forth and up and down with the points -- too much stess for me. I like to hear if they win, but I just can't take the ups and downs of the game. Go Cavs!

Red Robin - Yum!

I have to declare that I love Red Robin, specifically, the California Chicken Burger with bacon, cheese and guacamole. I have been to the RR in Willougbby at least once a week for the past 2 months. The fact that they have Spenda for my ice tea is just the icing on the cake. I love it!

Monday Night

Took off work this past Thursday and Friday and had a whirlwind weekend...did great having a garage sale and going garage saling. Found a crib, rocker, pack n play and misc. stuff for baby boy Nosse.

Went to another teacher party Friday night, Kentucky Derby party Saturday night and went to CiCi's Pizza on Sunday with sister in law. I say, don't bother, the food was not that good. If you want to eat cheap, step above Chuck E. Cheese pizza, then, go to CiCi's.

Tonight for dinner, I made Sandre Lee's Semi Homemade lasagna that was semi-gool. Ok, it was pretty good but the apple cider vinegar in it turned my husband off. We drove 20 minutes down to the Madison Dairy Queen to get some ice cream. Now, Larry is watching that magician David Blaine. He talks too slow, it irritates me to the point that I cannot watch. I think I will watch the last hour of 24 tonight though. It looks like it will be pretty good.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday, I got up early and cleaned the house. Then, I headed West to Willoughby Hills for my cousin's bridal shower, thankfully it was short and I got to sit with my favorite cousins and sister. At the shower, I decided that I hated what I had on so I went straight to Sears to buy some maternity clothes. I bought a pair of pants and 4 new tops for work. Headed home and got together some stuff for the garage sale this weekend. Larry came home from the Mentor Relays with a 1st place trophy. We got ourselves together and headed to the Irish American Club to meet my parents and watch some races and eat pizza and a great sub, I might add.

Sunday, we headed off to our new church, Saint Mary's in Painesville. We had been told that it was a poor community so we were a little leary. We arrived and watched as all the people filed in. It was a great parish. Everyone looked like us and there was a great mix of old and young people. We stayed after and picked up the registration form to get ourselves registered. We will have our baby baptized there in October. From church, Larry wanted to go to CiCi's Pizza buffet, but it was closed so we went to Qdoba. This in no way comes close to Chipotle. I hever have to go there again. We headed home and my sister and family came over with some junk for the garage sale. We decided to take a mass trip to Super Wal Mart in Madison and shop around. We traipsed around there with my nephews and then we headed back to our separate houses. For the rest of the night, I cleaned and priced my garage sale stuff.

The weekends just fly by.

My Friday Night

Friday Night - It was a fiasco. We were supposed to go to the Night at the Races with my parents at the Irish American Club. We found out late afternoon that my mom had given me the wrong date and it was Saturday night. So, I had wanted to go to my cousin's to celebrate her anniversary, but we had been previously been invited to a teacher's house for an end of the year party. When the races came up, I was glad to get out of the party, because I go every year and every year, these women don't talk to me. They have all been teaching together for years and quite frankly, they don't need to talk to me. They have no interest, we have nothing in common. Anyway, every year I tell my husband we are not going back but somehow I am always there. So this year, I said I would go and we would leave early to go to my cousin's.

At home before we left, I was in tears (could have been hormonal), saying that I had a lot of friends and they liked me. Other women liked to talk to me and actually think I am funny. I said that there is nothing wrong with me and these women are jerks. My husband called one of the football coaches to see if his wife was going to be there and so I sucked it up since I knew Sheila would be there. So we went, Sheila was coming later so I talked to another woman who I know from football games. She said that her husband told her that she'd know everyone and she didn't either. I talked to her and sat by myself at some points while my husband socialized with the other teachers. At one point, one younger female teacher announced that she had drunk a half bottle of rum but wasn't even tipsy and realized she bought diluted rum. For some reason, people thought this was hilarious. At this point, I decided I was never coming to this party again. Later Sheila came and I talked to her for awhile. I wanted to leave and go to my cousin's but my husband couldn't bear to leave while Lebron and the Cavs were playing this important game -- whatever, somehow, every game is important, isn't it? Finally, around 10:45 I said I was done and we were leaving. I missed my cousins and had a sucky time.
